Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support clinical operations on-site in a fast-paced setting. You will register patients, collect demographic and insurance information, perform vital signs, and document thoroughly in the medical record to ensure seamless patient flow.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
• Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience (required).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required at time of hire).
• Graduate of a Medical Assisting program (preferred).
• Experience in urgent care, emergency department, or hospital setting (preferred).
• Prior experience with patient registration or front desk responsibilities (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Register patients and collect necessary demographic, insurance, and eligibility information.
• Process co-pays and assist with scheduling.
• Prepare patients for examination by obtaining medical history and documenting accurately in the medical record.
• Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height, and weight.
• Perform point-of-care testing (e.g., flu, strep, urinalysis, EKG, pregnancy testing) and report results to providers.
• Draw blood and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Prepare, clean, and stock exam rooms; monitor inventory levels.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the medical record system.
• Support front desk responsibilities, including phone management and patient communication.
• Conduct patient follow-up calls as needed.
• Complete opening and closing duties, including cash handling and end-of-day reconciliation.
• Perform equipment checks, quality control, and troubleshooting as needed.
• Follow all clinical, safety, and organizational policies and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned
