*We are seeking a visionary and hands-on Practice Area Lead to join our early-stage startup as a founding team member. This role does not offer a salary at the outset. Instead, compensation will be in the form of equity and a share of revenue, reflecting your critical role in building and scaling the company. As we secure funding and generate consistent revenue, the position will transition to a full market-rate salary and benefits.

As we expand, we’re looking for aPractice Area Leadto help us grow ourPrivate Equity vertical—bringing the SEI category and Rejoyce to fund managers and operating teams across the investment lifecycle.

Position Summary

ThePractice Area Lead – Private Equitywill spearhead the strategy, growth, and client impact of our PE-focused practice. This role blendshigh-touch advisory workwithframework innovation,technology co-design, andmarket-building leadership.

You’ll collaborate directly with the Founder/CEO to engage early clients, refine our offerings, and validate how SEI delivers ROI across fund-level and portfolio-level value creation. Over time, you’ll own this vertical and build a team around it.

This role requires:

  • Deep experience working withPE fund managers and deal teams, as well asexecutives and operators within PE-backed companies.
  • Astrong network in the private equity spacewith the credibility and relational equity to open doors.
  • Experience drivingoperational improvements,transformation mandates, orvalue creation programsinside or alongside PE firms.

You will also help shape how ourSEI Report,Digital Mirror, andJoyce Agentevolve to meet the unique needs of PE—from investment thesis alignment and diligence diagnostics to value creation tracking and strategic execution maturity scoring.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define the strategic roadmap for the PE practice and align it with Zero Fog’s execution methodologies and Rejoyce.AI capabilities.
  • Develop scalable service models, diagnostic assets, and SEI frameworks tailored to the PE context (fund vs. portco).
  • Own the IP playbook for PE execution maturity—developing toolkits, transformation guides, and repeatable advisory assets.
  • Lead diagnostics, audits, and transformation engagements for PE firms and portcos.
  • Use SEI to uncover execution gaps, maturity constraints, and revenue/value leakage.
  • Coach CXOs and deal teams on how to accelerate strategic execution without disrupting operations.
  • Tailor Rejoyce’s SEI report to reflect private equity KPIs, fund/portco interlinkages, investment thesis alignment, and execution maturity risks.
  • Translate execution insights into ROI narratives for investors, boards, and operating partners.
  • Activate your network to identify early adopters—funds, portfolio operations groups, and portco CXOs.
  • Co-create commercial strategies and pitch narratives for selling diagnostics, audits, and full platform adoption.
  • Represent Zero Fog at industry events and in 1:1 conversations with influential PE leaders.

Thought Leadership

  • Shape how the SEI category is perceived by the PE market.
  • Contribute to market education through articles, webinars, and conference engagements.
  • Become a go-to expert in execution intelligence for the private capital ecosystem.
  • Partner with product and engineering to embed PE-relevant features in Rejoyce.
  • Define system logic, metrics, and functionality that reflect how PE firms manage strategy and execution risk.
  • Serve as a voice-of-the-customer in product iteration and roadmap planning.
  • Help build the next generation of execution intelligence consultants for private equity.
  • Mentor delivery leads, client advisors, and analysts working on PE accounts.
  • Foster an ownership mindset and a culture of strategic clarity and data-driven rigor.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in management consulting, transformation leadership, or PE value creation.
  • Direct experience working with (or inside)private equity firms, portfolio operations teams, or C-level roles in PE-backed companies.
  • Demonstrated ability to sell and lead engagements with C-suite clients and investors.
  • Experience in transformation programs, strategy execution, or operational maturity uplift.
  • Strong understanding of investment cycles, fund operations, and value creation levers in PE.
  • Fluency in enterprise KPIs, EBITDA improvement strategies, and execution benchmarks.
  • Ability to diagnose complex performance challenges and translate them into action.

Analytical & Technical

  • Ability to define diagnostic KPIs, segment execution waste, and quantify size-of-prize opportunities.
  • Comfort working with digital tools (e.g., dashboards, SEI reports, operating model frameworks).
  • Bonus: familiarity with AI, automation, data visualization, or performance monitoring systems.
  • Executive presence and ability to operate across C-suite, deal teams, and transformation leads.
  • Clear communicator with a bias toward insight, action, and simplification.
  • Strong storytelling and influence skills—able to align diverse stakeholders behind strategic change.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or similar advanced degree preferred.
