The Michigan Department of Corrections is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse E9 who will care for maximum security prisoners under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The Licensed Practical Nurse E9 provides a full range of nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include providing total patient care, assisting with activities of daily living, assessing patients within scope, administering medications, and keeping the RN informed of patient conditions. This role involves working exclusively with maximum security prisoners and is subject to random drug and alcohol screening.
This position includes up to a $2000 signing bonus.

Education
Possession of a certificate from a practical nursing education program accepted for licensure by the Michigan Board of Nursing.
Experience
No specific type or amount required.

The Department may screen out applicants convicted of a felony per Public Act 191 of 2017. Misdemeanor or felony convictions require completion of all sentences, including parole or probation, for employment eligibility.
