HGA in Boston is seeking a Public Relations Specialist to share the stories behind our projects, people, and ideas while elevating the firm’s reputation as a national leader in architecture, engineering, and design. You’ll translate complex ideas into engaging content and lead media outreach with journalists and influencers.

Reporting to the Senior PR Manager, you’ll develop editorial calendars, draft pitches, press releases, and key messages; manage inquiries; support rankings; track results;

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of public relations or strategic communications experience.
• Proven ability to secure local, regional, and national earned media coverage.
• Strong media strategy, storytelling, and journalist/editor relationships.
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading for press materials and social content.
• Ability to plan multi-phase PR campaigns and manage tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support PR planning and execution; align campaigns with firm priorities.
• Develop compelling story angles and content; draft pitches and press materials.
• Build media relationships and pursue coverage; engage journalists and influencers.
• Coordinate media inquiries, interviews, and talking points for leaders.
• Oversee annual rankings program and amplify results for branding.
• Track results with media monitoring tools and share insights in dashboards.
• Curate social posts highlighting coverage and reinforce brand positioning.
• Represent HGA at events, interviews, and networking opportunities.
