Job summary

Peterbilt Motors Company seeks an PQI Engineer to lead engineering design issue resolution, quality improvement, and production support for heavy truck manufacturing. You will apply standard engineering methods, analyze issues, and drive corrective actions.

This role requires collaboration, strong communication, and ability to lead 6-sigma initiatives; no travel expected; work within PPQA, PQI, and FVV contexts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• 5+ years' experience in the manufacturing industry.
• Extensive knowledge and use of PACCAR systems COPICS, OPS, EASOP and PCMS.
• Pro-E experience creating drawings.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for engineering design issue resolution, quality improvement development, and production support.
• Duties involve engineering assistance, problem resolution, training and other engineering duties supporting various aspects of heavy truck production.
• Designs specific parts in assigned phases of projects, applying standard engineering techniques with minimum supervision, occasionally requiring independent evaluation.
• Lead and/or participate in 6-sigma initiatives aimed at meeting plant and division quality goals.
• Prepare and present engineering quality status reports and other detailed reporting as directed to various levels of management.
• Other duties as assigned.
• No Travel expected for this position
