Job summary

State Street is hiring a Cryptographic Agility & Post-Quantum Engineer to advance the firm’s cryptographic modernization strategy. You will partner with cybersecurity, architecture, engineering, and PKI teams to enable formal cryptographic agility, assess cryptographic dependencies, and migrate to PQC-algorithms with strong security, compliance, and continuity.

The role requires deep cryptography knowledge, cloud experience, and a proactive, collaborative approach to manage evolving PQC

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
• 5+ years in cybersecurity, security engineering, encryption, PKI, or infrastructure security.
• Experience with cryptographic algorithms, protocols, and controls in enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, OCI, GCP).
• Experience with automation using Python, PowerShell, Bash, Java, C#, or Go.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD tools (Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Harness).
• Industry certifications such as CISSP or ECES are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Mature the enterprise Cryptographic Agility program to address cryptographic risks.
• Develop and maintain an inventory of cryptographic assets and dependencies.
• Identify systems with legacy cryptographic algorithms and plan migrations.
• Evaluate PQC standards, focusing on NIST-approved algorithms.
• Define approved cryptographic migration paths and implementation guidance.
• Collaborate with architecture, platform engineering, PKI, and infra teams for readiness.
• Pilot and validate PQC-enabled technologies for enterprise adoption.
• Develop standards and guidance for cryptographic agility and quantum readiness.
• Monitor cryptographic landscape, regulatory expectations, and industry standards.
• Produce metrics and executive reports on cryptographic risk and migrations.
• Support strategic security initiatives for long-term cryptographic resilience.
