Job summary

State Street is seeking a Cryptographic Agility & Post-Quantum (PQC) Engineer to help shape and deliver the firm's enterprise cryptographic modernization strategy.

You will partner across cybersecurity, architecture, engineering, infrastructure, and application teams to establish a formal cryptographic agility capability, identify cryptographic dependencies, evaluate emerging standards, and execute controlled transitions to new cryptographic algorithms while maintaining security, compliance, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
• 5+ years in cybersecurity, security engineering, encryption, PKI or related areas.
• Working knowledge of cryptographic algorithms, protocols and controls used in enterprise environments.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, OCI, GCP).
• Industry certifications such as CISSP or ECES desirable.

Responsibilities

• Mature the enterprise Cryptographic Agility program to address evolving cryptographic risks and standards.
• Develop and maintain an inventory of cryptographic assets, dependencies, algorithms, protocols, certificates and keys.
• Identify systems using legacy cryptography and define remediation and migration strategies.
• Evaluate PQC standards and technologies, focusing on NIST-approved algorithms and best practices.
• Define approved migration paths and implementation guidance for teams.
• Collaborate with architecture, platform engineering, PKI and infrastructure teams to assess readiness.
• Pilot PQC-enabled technologies and validate enterprise adoption.
• Develop procedures and guidance for cryptographic agility and quantum readiness.
• Monitor cryptographic landscape and regulatory expectations; produce metrics and executive reporting.
