RPM xConstruction LLC in McKinney, TX seeks an experienced Safety Manager to lead the Health and Safety program for the Paving Division, ensuring OSHA and DOT compliance across projects.

You will review contracts, prepare site-specific plans, and train subcontractors. The role requires 10 years in heavy civil construction, relevant certifications, and strong leadership. Excellent communication and organization are essential.

Qualifications

  • 10 years of Heavy Civil Construction experience.
  • Bachelor's in Safety, Engineering, or Business Administration.
  • ASP, CSHO, or CHST certifications.
  • OSHA 30 in Construction required; OSHA 10-30 Instructor preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Health and Safety program for the Paving Division per company policies and OSHA/DOT standards.
  • Review contracts for safety requirements and ensure compliance before and during projects.
  • Prepare project site specific plans and provide subcontractor orientation.
  • Collect safety documentation and monitor subcontractor activities for compliance.
  • Attend pre-con meetings; coordinate with project PM team; track activities.
  • Provide or coordinate OSHA/DOT training for company employees.
  • Inspect project sites/equipment for regulatory and policy compliance.
  • Prepare written reports on workplace and vehicular accidents with corrective actions.
  • Investigate accidents to identify root causes for future prevention.
  • Collaborate with Safety Director to evaluate policies and processes.
  • Communicate safety concerns/results with Safety Director and PM team.
  • Supervise Safety Paving Section employees; ensure training and safety compliance.
  • Inspire a culture of safety as a core RPM xConstruction value.

Job description

  • Manage the Health and Safety program for Paving Division employees per company Safety Policies, OSHA and DOT standards.
  • Review contracts for safety requirements and take a proactive approach to ensure compliance before the commencing of work and throughout the project’s life span.
  • Prepare Project Site Specific Plans and provide orientation training for all Subcontractors on Site Specific Plans.
  • Collect Safety documentation from all subcontractors and monitor their activities to ensure Safety Compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
  • Attend pre-con meetings, communicate with project PM team and track project activities throughout the life of the project.
  • Provide or coordinate task specific OSHA and DOT training for company employees.
  • Inspect project sites and equipment to ensure compliance with the State and Federal Safety and Health regulations as well as the company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare written reports for all workplace accidents and vehicular accidents with recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Investigate all workplace accidents and vehicular accidents to identify root causes and contributing factors for use in future preventative measures and further development of overall company safety program.
  • Collaborate with the Safety Director and actively participate in process evaluation of existing policies, processes and procedures.
  • Communicate with the Safety Director and Project Management Team concerning safety concerns, results, or anomalies identified to remedy and/or improve Safety program.
  • Supervise Safety Paving Section employees by: Providing guidance, training, coaching and setting expectations to ensure the Paving Division meets training requirements and safety compliance.
  • Inspire a culture of safety as key to RPM xConstruction’s corporate values and future success.
  • Support all areas of safety operations as needed.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Experience: 10 years of Heavy Civil Construction experience.
  • Education: Bachelor's in Safety, Engineering or Business Administration.
  • Certifications: ASP, CSHO (Construction) or CHST.
  • OSHA 10-30 Hour Instructor (Preferred).
  • OSHA 30 in Construction required.
  • Strong knowledge of heavy civil, heavy equipment and excavation safety.
  • Bi-lingual not required but a plus.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Products.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills are required.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrates high level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and make quick decisions in the event of unforeseen situations.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Ability to present in a large meeting or training environment.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job which include, but are not limited to: Walking, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, sitting, squatting, and occasionally lifting and carrying.
