Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc is seeking a Project Health and Safety Manager to plan, implement, and oversee health and safety programs on construction sites, ensuring compliance with local, state, federal, and client requirements.
The role requires traveling to other branches and job-sites, delivering site-specific safety orientations, investigating incidents, and coordinating with management, subcontractors, and craft workers to foster a strong safety culture.
Summary The Project Health and Safety Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing safety programs to ensure compliance with all local, state, federal and client-based health and safety regulations on the construction project site. This role involves identifying hazards, conducting risk assessments, leading safety training, and enforcing safety policies to prevent accidents and injuries. The Project Health and Safety Manager will collaborate with Branch and Project management, subcontractors, and craft employees to promote a strong safety culture, investigate incidents, and ensure corrective actions are implemented. The position plays a critical role in protecting personnel, property, and the organization while supporting successful project delivery.
8–10 years of experience in heavy civil construction safety. (Minimum - Accredited four (4) year degree or equivalent in applicable field of study and six (6) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to ten (10) years if non-degreed). OSHA 510 and/or OSHA 500 Certification. Certified Safety and Health Technician (CSHT). Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification. Safety Degree Strong knowledge of OSHA 1926 Construction Standards Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders. Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state, federal and client-specific health and safety regulations. Ability to provide strong mentorship skills, fostering the growth and competence of less experienced project Health and Safety team members. Ability to work independently and as a part of a team. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
