Job summary

Capital Holding Group in Jefferson City, MO seeks a Safety Coordinator to implement, manage, and monitor safety programs that meet OSHA requirements for DOT and paving projects, bridges, and earthworks. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety Health or five years of equivalent experience.
• Experience in civil construction or asphalt is preferred.
• Environmental compliance experience.
• Knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations.
• Formal safety training including OSHA in construction.
• Ability to identify and correct safety deficiencies on site.
• Excellent interpersonal skills across all levels in a construction environment.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Clean and valid driver's license.
• Punctual with strong work ethic and attendance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in executing safety strategy and zero-accident culture for assigned units.
• Ensure job site safety including training, documentation, audits, and reporting.
• Monitor daily construction activities for OSHA compliance and company policies.
• Develop and implement safety programs to meet compliance and safety needs.
• Implement safety programs for each project within the territory.
• Lead safety training for individuals and crews as needed.
• Maintain regular site visits to all projects within the territory.
• Communicate safety matters in real time to all parties involved.
• Maintain safety records and communicate across levels of the organization.

Job Location: Capital Holding Group - Jefferson City, MO 65101

Position Type: Full Time

Capital Holding Group is looking for a Safety Coordinator to implement, manage, and monitor safety programs, policies, and procedures that meet OSHA requirements. This position will oversee all DOT and commercial paving jobs and bridge and earthworks projects to ensure they are meeting OSHA standards and following company safety policies.

This individual must be an experienced safety specialist with a demonstrated history of working in the environmental services industry. This individual must be skilled in Hazard Analysis, CPR Instruction, Safety Training, Incident Investigation, and Lock Out Tag Out.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

• Assist with executing our safety strategy and zero accident culture for the assigned business unit


• Ensure job site safety including training, documentation, audits, and reporting


• Monitor daily construction activities for compliance with OSHA and company policies/procedures


• Assist in safety efforts by researching, planning, developing, and implementing programs and procedures necessary to meet compliance and safety needs


• Implement an effective safety program for each project within the territory assigned


• Lead safety training for individuals and crews as needed


• Maintain a regular site visit to all projects within the territory assigned


• Communicate to all parties in real time to ensure all safety matters are dealt with timely and accurately


• Maintain proper safety records and documentation and communicate to all levels of the organization as necessary


• Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

• Bachelors degree focused on Occupational Safety Health or five (5) years of equivalent experience.


• Relative background in civil construction or asphalt


• Environmental compliance experience


• Previous experience with OSHA rules and regulations


• Formal safety training including OSHA within the construction industry


• Ability to identify and correct safety deficiencies in the field


• Possess excellent interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels in a construction environment


• Working knowledge with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint


• Clean and valid drivers license


• Well-organized approach to constant changing working conditions and/or priorities


• Must be punctual, have a strong work ethic, and maintain a good attendance record.


• Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug/alcohol screen, and background check
