Job summary

Harley-Davidson Motor Company is seeking a Design Engineer for Powertrain Performance focusing on Intake & Exhaust at our PDC in Wauwatosa, WI. You will lead development from concept to production, ensuring the signature Harley-Davidson sound while meeting global noise and emissions standards.

You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Service, Styling, Purchasing, and Platform teams to balance performance, weight, cost, and timing, driving innovations and ensuring quality across the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 3 years of related Engineering experience.
• This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• Experience with DFMEA and DVP&R activities is required.
• Proficiency in CAD (Creo/Pro-E preferred).
• Understanding of exhaust system design, acoustics, and emissions components.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and release of intake and exhaust components from concept through production.
• Collaborate cross-functionally and with suppliers to meet performance and regulatory requirements.
• Drive sound, performance, durability, and emissions compliance through design, validation, and testing.
• Identify and implement new technologies into product lifecycle plans.
• Demonstrate ownership, attention to detail, and effective communication while solving complex engineering challenges.
