Job summary

The Harley-Davidson Motor Company Product Development Center (PDC) in Wauwatosa, WI is seeking a Design Engineer for Powertrain Performance – Intake & Exhaust. Lead intake/exhaust system development from concept to production, shaping Harley’s signature sound while meeting noise and emissions requirements.

Collaboration across Engineering, Manufacturing, Service, Styling, and Purchasing will be essential to meet performance, quality, cost, weight, and timing targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field required.
• Typically requires 3 years of related engineering experience.
• Experience leading or contributing to DFMEA and DVP&R activities.
• Proficiency in CAD (Creo/Pro-E preferred).

Responsibilities

• Own the design and release of intake and exhaust components from concept through production.
• Collaborate cross-functionally and with suppliers to meet performance, cost, weight, and regulatory targets.
• Balance sound, performance, durability, and emissions through design, validation, CAD analysis, prototypes and testing.
• Identify and implement new technologies into product lifecycle plans.
• Demonstrate ownership, attention to detail, and clear communication in solving engineering challenges.
