Job summary

Harbinger in Garden Grove, CA seeks an ambitious engineering student to join the Powertrain Manufacturing team as an intern. You will assist with the development and manufacturing of Harbinger’s Electric Drive Unit system, including rotor and stator, and contribute to tooling design and production standards.

The role offers hands-on startup experience, 4–5 in-office days per week, with 8–15 weeks duration and a $1,000 relocation stipend for interns residing far away.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Bachelor’s degree program or greater in related field.
• Work authorized in the United States OR ability to obtain J-1/F-1 visa.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is a plus.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist design of manufacturing standards, processes, equipment, and tooling for the Powertrain system.
• Develop and document work instructions and SOPs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues.
• Design, test, and validate new tools and equipment.
• Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Prepare reports and presentations communicating findings.
