Job summary

Stellantis is seeking a Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer - UPE to join the North America engineering team to develop and launch cost-effective powertrain processes for NM, NNM, and adaptation programs.

The role supports plant facilities, installation, and standardization across multiple sites, with emphasis on risk mitigation, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals.

Qualifications

  • High school degree or GED with minimum THREE (3) years of experience in engineering or a related technical field.
  • Ability to work and interact with all levels of the organization
  • Strong oral, written, presentation and organizational skills
  • Ability to translate technical data and analysis into an executive summary format for presentation in easily understandable formats
  • Ability to embrace cross-functional teams responsible for developing, specifying, building, and launching powertrain manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of advanced problem-solving skills and ability to manage data analysis to identify root causes and attack them to closure
  • Knowledge of cost studies and strategic planning
  • Microsoft Office intermediate or advance knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Perform assessments for process changes and related investment requirements for cost studies
  • Understand engineering scope definition, RFQs, sourcing, technical evaluations, design, manufacturing, and installation of air/mist/coolant collectors and filtration
  • Support and prioritize the Non-New Model (NNM) powertrain programs requests and ensure that approved programs are completed on time and within budget
  • Support all New Model (NM) program’s facilities aspects including site preparation and machine installation
  • Support flow activities on programs ensuring successful implementation and tracking of the Iron Triangle (Scope, Timing, and Cost)
  • Participate in the implementation of Stellantis Industrial System (SIS) methodology, supporting all activities including deployment of advanced SPW tools and guide systematic root cause problem solving methods to attack risks
  • Development/improvement of process and equipment standards related to facilities infrastructure
  • Manufacturing Plants located in Dundee, Michigan (MI), Trenton, Michigan (MI), Kokomo, Indiana (IN) and Saltillo, Mexico (MX); Transmission Plants in Kokomo and Tipton, Indiana (IN); Casting Plants in Kokomo, Indiana (IN) and Etobicoke, Ontario (ON), Toledo, Ohio (OH), while maintaining a relationship with the Global CoC initiatives
  • Drive standardization across plants in all regions
