Job summary

Magna Powertrain in the United States is seeking a seasoned program-launch leader to drive all plant launch activities from award through SOP and ramp-up, ensuring targets for timing, quality, and cost are met. You will coordinate cross-functional teams across manufacturing, engineering, quality, supply chain, maintenance, and finance to deliver detailed plans and milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; engineering/technical field preferred.
• 5–7 years in manufacturing, program launch or program management in automotive.
• Experience leading plant launches and cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of APQP/PPAP and production readiness.
• Powertrain systems knowledge preferred (4WD/AWD, fluid systems, machining, castings, or stamping).

Responsibilities

• Lead all plant launch activities from program award through SOP and ramp-up.
• Act as the primary plant interface for launch communications with internal teams.
• Coordinate cross-functional launch teams including manufacturing, engineering, quality, supply chain, maintenance, and finance.
• Develop, manage, and execute launch plans aligned with milestones.
• Track open issues to ensure launch readiness and production targets.
• Support equipment installation, validation, run-offs, and production trials.
• Ensure APQP deliverables including PFMEA, control plans, WIs, and PPAP.
• Monitor run-at-rate, scrap, downtime, and OEE; drive corrective actions.
• Escalate risks and ensure timely resolution; support hiring and readiness of production teams.
• Ensure MAFACT principles and post-launch continuous improvement.
