Job summary

PACCAR is seeking a Customer Field Test Engineer to support the Powertrain Validation team. The role involves planning, organizing, and monitoring North American powertrain field tests, overseeing field tests of new or modified components, and interfacing with customers and dealers for proper installation and maintenance.

The position requires up to 30% travel and will involve on-call support during off-shift hours, with data compilation, analysis, and failure investigations as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant work experience.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• Strong technical and communications skills.
• Experience coordinating technical work across organizations.
• Knowledge of commercial vehicle technologies and customer usage patterns.
• Self-directed with initiative and flexibility.
• Ability to manage workload and respond to shifting time and project demands.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and conduct moderately scoped projects with minimal supervision.
• Design test fixtures and specify instrumentation, equipment, and data processing methods.
• Lead data collection, field testing, and development of improved test methods.
• Prepare and present reports, conclusions, and recommendations to management.
• Foster strong communication across departments and management levels.
