Job summary

Rocky Mountain ATV/MC seeks an R&D Drafter to join our product development team in Utah. The role focuses on turning concepts into detailed 3D models and precise drawings using SolidWorks, with 2–3 years of hands-on experience needed.

You will work closely with R&D engineers to create parts, assemblies, and documentation for prototyping and manufacturing, maintaining CAD file integrity and design intent.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years SolidWorks experience.
• Model complex shapes and curves.
• Parametric solid and surface modeling.
• Create/modify parts, assemblies, drawings.
• Translate sketches to editable CAD models.
• Prepare drawings for prototyping and manufacturing.
• Maintain CAD files and revisions.
• Collaborate with engineers to solve design issues.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify SolidWorks parts, assemblies, and detailed drawings for new and existing products.
• Develop complex geometry using parametric solid modeling, surface modeling, sweeps, lofts, and boundary surfaces.
• Create detailed patterns and features across curved surfaces while maintaining accurate dimensions and design intent.
• Translate sketches, reference models, measurements, and engineering direction into accurate, editable CAD models.
• Prepare dimensioned drawings and CAD files for prototyping, supplier review, and manufacturing.
• Update designs based on prototype evaluations, fitment checks, and feedback from the R&D team.
• Maintain organized CAD files, drawing revisions, and supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers and product developers to resolve design and modeling challenges.
• Other duties as assigned.
