Qualifications

Job description

The Powersports Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the service department within a retail powersports dealership. This role ensures that all service activities are executed efficiently, meeting high standards of quality and customer satisfaction. The manager leads and motivates a team of technicians and service advisors to deliver timely and accurate repairs and maintenance services. They are also accountable for managing workflow, inventory, and service department profitability while maintaining compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Ultimately, the Powersports Service Manager plays a critical role in enhancing customer loyalty and driving the overall success of the dealership’s service operations.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in powersports or automotive technology preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in powersports or automotive service management or a related supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of powersports vehicles, including motorcycles, ATVs, and personal watercraft, and their maintenance requirements.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team in a fast-paced retail service environment.
  • Proficiency with service management software and basic computer applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification from recognized powersports or automotive service organizations (e.g., ASE certification).
  • Experience with dealership management systems (DMS) and inventory control software.
  • Demonstrated success in improving service department profitability and customer satisfaction scores.
  • Strong understanding of warranty processes and manufacturer service guidelines.
