Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Powerhouse Technician to maintain and troubleshoot critical utility systems at our Columbus facility on a 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 3:30 pm – 11:30 pm). You will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, read P&IDs, and ensure safe, reliable operation of steam, cooling systems, and electrical distribution.

Requires a High School Diploma or GED and 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment in industrial environments.
• Knowledge of facility utility systems such as electrical distribution, steam/condensate, boilers, chillers, and cooling water.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair critical utility systems (steam/condensate, compressed air, cooling water, chillers, cooling towers, electrical distribution).
• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical systems (hydraulics, pneumatics, fluid systems).
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment (substations, breakers, motor control centers, VFDs, motors, transformers).
• Read and work from blueprints, P&IDs, and control schematics to diagnose issues and complete repairs.
• Use hand and power tools, inspection equipment, and other machinery to service equipment safely and according to specifications.
• Maintain maintenance logs, communicate findings, coordinate with stockroom for parts, and identify follow-up actions.
• Support continuous improvement and EH&S requirements; complete training, permits, and certifications as assigned.
• Work independently and in teams across diverse industrial environments including outdoors, heat, cold, and confined spaces.
• Role requires lifting up to 25 lbs and may include overtime or shift work.
