Job summary

Henkels & McCoy, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Project Manager to support planning, execution, and delivery of power utility construction projects.

You will assist with project coordination, resource management, and stakeholder communications to ensure on-time, in-scope, safe, and regulatory-compliant delivery. The ideal candidate holds a construction management or engineering degree with 2+ years in project coordination, and is proficient with MS Office and PM software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• 2+ years of experience in construction project coordination, preferably utility infrastructure.
• Familiarity with utility standards and safety protocols (NESC/OSHA).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Primavera or Procore is a plus.
• Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
• PMP, OSHA 30, or other certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage planning and scheduling construction activities related to Utility construction projects.
• Coordinate with field crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and utility clients to support daily operations.
• Monitor project progress, budget status, and timelines; report on variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate project documentation including contracts, permits, change orders, and daily reports.
• Help manage procurement of materials and ensure timely delivery to job sites.
• Support compliance with local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations.
• Attend project meetings and provide updates to internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Perform quality control inspections and assist with punch list development and closeout documentation.
• Assist with cost tracking, billing, and preparation of project invoices.
• Track project performance using Earned Value Management (EVM) principles to assess cost and schedule variances and provide accurate forecasts.
• Prepare and present financial and performance reports, including cost-to-complete and earned value metrics.
