Kiewit Power Engineering is seeking Civil Engineering interns for transmission line design work in Houston. You will assist in creating design documents, bill of materials, and detailed drawings for 12kV–500kV projects across EPC and detailed design phases.

Among duties are using PLS-CADD/PLS-POLE/PLS-TOWER, reviewing schedules, and ensuring adherence to NEC/NESC/NEMA/IEEE standards while collaborating with engineers and vendors.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• 3.0 cumulative GPA preferred.
• Basic knowledge of NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Create design documents and drawings for projects, including transmission line design criteria for PLS-CADD.
• Assist with engineering software to build and analyze transmission line models in PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, PLS-TOWER.
• Develop construction drawings, material specs, and loading packages for vendors.
• Review project schedules with the project engineer to stay on track.
• Use the document management system properly.
• Apply corporate engineering standards.
• Assist with project activities.
• Coordinate with project engineer, customers, and others as needed.
• Ensure quality and accuracy of work.
• Flag potential problems and propose solutions.
