Job summary

Farnsworth Group, Inc. is seeking a Power Transmission & Distribution Engineer/Project Manager to lead electric transmission and distribution design from concept to completion.

Responsibilities include client liaison, project management, and coordination across electrical, civil, survey, environmental, and structural teams. You will oversee schedules, budgets, and risk while developing drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited institution or related construction management/engineering technology degree from ABET accredited program.
• 7+ years of T&D experience in consulting or utility environments.
• 3+ years managing power industry projects.
• Proficiency with industry design standards (NESC, IEEE, NERC) and knowledge of 69kV–500kV systems.
• PE license and/or PMP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead power transmission, distribution and substation projects from planning through closeout.
• Develop client relationships and support business development and proposals.
• Provide leadership across multidisciplinary teams (electrical, civil, survey, environmental, structural).
• Oversee schedules, budgets, forecasting, risk, scope and staffing.
• Prepare engineering drawings, specs, and cost estimates; QA/QC.
• Conduct studies (load flow, short circuit, coordination) and perform route siting/permitting.
