Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a skilled Winding Assembly Design Engineer in Charlotte, NC to design winding components for power transformers and prepare detailed drawings and BOMs. The role includes overseeing the factory setup for production in a new facility planned for 2026.

You will drive design standards, support manufacturing through inspections and analyses, and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to meet quality, cost and schedule targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 6+ years of experience in transformer electrical design or winding/assembly design.
• Experience with winding types for LV/HV/tertiary systems >100 MVA, 145 kV.

Responsibilities

• Design winding and winding assembly components for power transformers, including detailed drawings and BOMs.
• Create manufacturing drawings and BOMs using 2D/3D CAD.
• Provide technical support through winding assembly manufacturing, including quality inspections and tolerance analysis.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve design queries and ensure quality standards.
