Job summary

Aggreko plc in Mendon, MA is seeking a Power Technician to install, commission, maintain, troubleshoot and repair power distribution equipment. You will work from the Mendon service center and travel to customer sites, performing preventive maintenance and repairs on generators, diesel engines, switchgear and related systems. The role requires a HS diploma, 3–7 years’ experience, and a valid driver's license. Training programs are provided.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of experience working on power generators equipment.
• Experience reading schematics and calculating nominal/tonnage or kW requirements.
• May be required to obtain TWIC card or valid DOT medical card.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Based at Mendon, MA service center and travel daily in company vehicle.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, and oil-free air compressors.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at shop and on customer locations, and perform repairs.
• Work solo or with another technician(s) to set up and operate equipment at shop and customer sites.
• Occasional overtime, weekend work, and travel may be required.

Bring your energy to Aggreko as a Power Technicianbased in Mendon, MA.

You’llperform installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of Aggreko's electrical power distribution equipment, including transformers, switchgear, load banks, cables, and related systems. This role supports both field and service center operations while ensuring compliance with safety regulations, technical standards, and customer expectations.

What you’ll do:

• You’ll be based out of our Mendon, MA service center and can expect to work in the field with local travel daily in your company vehicle
• You’ll have an opportunity to work overtime and weekends, and there is a potential for travel
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, and/or oil free air compressors
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and on customer locations, and handle the repairs
• You will either be out on your own or teamed up with another technician(s) to set up and operate equipment at the shop and on customer sites

You are:

• High School diploma/GED
• 3-7 years of experience working on power generators equipment, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
• Experience with calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements, along with reading and knowing schematics.
• Based on the customer requirements, you may be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 50 lbs.

• Must be able to stand,walkand sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrainwith functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices
• Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that willpermitwork to be safely performed from ground / floor level tofull overhead level
• Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items,functional hand-eye coordination, andfunctionally grip with adequate strength to safelyhold tools and stair railing or ladders
• Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs.), push/pull (80 lbs.), carry (60 lbs.), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs.), stoop, kneel and squat
