Job summary

TRC, Member of WSP, is seeking Commissioning Engineers to support client teams across the Mid-Atlantic region. Candidates should have an engineering degree and 2+ years in testing/commissioning of utility/substation equipment.

The role involves planning, documenting, and executing commissioning activities, with travel across sites and active participation in project meetings; strong communication and safety focus are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering and 2+ years of testing/commissioning experience, preferably Electric Utility.
• Ability to read and understand construction/manufacturer drawings and schematics.
• Knowledge of electrical protection systems and diagrams (one-line, three-line interconnection).
• Experience with high/medium voltage substation equipment or related commissioning activities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, perform and document commissioning activities for substation protection and power circuits per client requirements and schedules.
• Review wiring diagrams, schematics and engineering docs in advance of projects.
• Troubleshoot protection and control systems and equipment, including faults and test results.
• Participate in project meetings (kickoff, planning, progress, lessons learned).
• Prepare detailed reports and documentation on project progress, issues, and test results.
• Develop project-specific testing/commissioning plans and energization plans.
• Identify risks and create Site Risk Assessments to manage isolation and safety.
• Ensure all tests are performed and results recorded and distributed.
• Develop detailed test reports and approve test documentation.
