Job summary

International Paper is hiring a Technical Assistant - Power and Recovery to support the Power department’s day-to-day operations and long-term reliability goals. You will assist the Power Area Manager and collaborate across Operations, Maintenance, and Technical teams.

The role requires a minimum of five years in Power Operations and a strong safety record, with a engineering degree or related field. This position is based at the Riverdale Mill in Selma, AL.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience in Power Operations.
• Minimum five years of management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• Demonstrated safety commitment and results.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations in the Power area to ensure reliability.
• Design systems to build long-term stability and reliability.
• Manage safety, environment, people, operations, and reliability performance.
• Provide operational support for safety audits and outages.
• Lead and mentor Power Crew Leaders with clear expectations.
• Develop procedures, SOPs, and training materials.
