Job summary

Ameren Illinois seeks an Electrical Engineer to design and analyze subtransmission and DER integration projects, working with Design, Construction, Operating and Maintenance teams to justify and initiate critical improvements in central and southern Illinois. You will perform load/DER forecasts, power-flow studies, and advanced modeling using PSSE/PSCAD, while supporting economic analyses and contingency planning for power delivery.

A BS in EE is required; FE/PE preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required, power emphasis preferred.
• FE certification or PE registration preferred.
• Experience in power system analysis and with PSSE/PSCAD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual design for new facilities and initiate design/construction documents.
• Prepare load & DER forecasts and perform power-flow studies for the subtransmission system.
• Develop expertise in power systems analysis using PSSE and PSCAD.
• Collaborate with Field Engineering and other departments for joint studies and technical support.
• Evaluate system load additions and DER interconnections, including solar, wind and storage.
