Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Power Systems Quality Assurance Engineer to join a global team across the US, Sweden, and Poland, focusing on Generation Management Systems, Energy Management Systems, and SCADA solutions for utilities.

You will design test strategies, validate performance, and mentor others, using Jira/Zephyr Scale or Azure DevOps, while ensuring compliance and quality throughout the software lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in quality assurance or power systems environments.
• Knowledge of EMS, GMS, SCADA systems and utility operations.
• Understanding of QA methodologies and software lifecycle management.
• Experience with Jira/Zephyr Scale or Azure DevOps is a plus.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive test strategies based on business requirements, solution designs and functional specifications.
• Design and execute functional and non-functional test cases to validate system performance and quality.
• Create and manage test data required for successful project delivery.
• Utilize test management tools to maintain test scripts, execute test plans, and report progress.
• Identify, track, investigate, and verify software issues in collaboration with development teams.
• Support the full product lifecycle through continuous quality improvements and testing excellence.
• Actively participate in Agile development activities and cross-functional team initiatives.
• Mentor team members on testing best practices, quality processes, and risk reduction techniques.]
