Job summary

Dominion Energy is seeking an entry to developer level engineer to support the Electric Transmission Planning Generation Interconnection team. You will assist engineers in evaluating the impact of new generation and energy storage resources on the transmission system through studies and coordination with PJM and internal teams.

You will gain expertise in power systems, renewable integration, battery storage, and transmission planning while contributing to cross-functional projects on a hybrid

Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Engineering required; ABET accreditation preferred.
Knowledge of engineering fundamentals and report writing.
Able to interpret codes, regulations and practices.
Experience with power system studies is a plus.

Responsibilities

Support power flow, short-circuit, stability and reliability assessments.
Review technical information submitted by developers.
Assist with transmission planning studies and prepare technical reports.
Coordinate with PJM and internal stakeholders.

Skills

Understanding of three-phase power

Understanding of per-unit calculations

Ability to analyze electrical models

Ability to learn power system software

Technical calculation & interpretation

Strong Excel skills

Programming/scripting (Python, MATLAB,
