Job summary

New York ISO is seeking an Operations Engineering Engineer to contribute to reliability studies and power system analyses within NYISO’s control area.

The role supports VSS/Black Start programs, reviews events for compliance with NERC/NPCC standards, and maintains detailed NYCA models. A BS in Electrical Engineering is required, with a MS preferred, plus 2+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering; MS preferred.
• Two years of related industry experience in power systems.
• Knowledge of power systems and ability to use power system tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical engineering system studies (seasonal, NERC, NPCC, Inter-Regional).
• Support VSS and Black Start programs; act as SME.
• Review events for compliance with NERC/NPCC/NYISO standards.
• Maintain detailed NYCA models in IDC; coordinate data mappings.
• Provide technical oversight to Associate Engineers.
• Participate in internal/external committees and working groups.
