Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in the Greater Seattle area seeks a Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead a team responsible for structural, fluid handling, and thermal control subassemblies for electrical power generation equipment, including fuel cell generators and solar arrays.

You will recruit and mentor engineers, manage staffing and budgets, and drive design for test, cost, and schedule while coordinating with suppliers and cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Physics or Aerospace engineering required.
• 6+ years in aerospace/automotive with multidisciplinary projects.
• 2+ years leading technical teams and managing staff resources.
• Experience with static structural, modal, vibration, thermal and fluid analyses.
• Proven supplier management and design for test/manufacture/cost (DFx) experience.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, manage and mentor a team of engineers.
• Lead trade studies, analyses, and design reviews for power generation hardware.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal groups on components and testing.
• Define requirements and drive decisions to meet mission objectives within cost/schedule.
• Mentor staff development and communicate status to leadership.
