Job summary

Blue Origin in Seattle, WA, is seeking an Electrical Engineer III to deliver end-to-end electrical engineering solutions across power distribution, instrumentation, and controls for propulsion and test environments.

You will work with operations, manufacturing, and partners to define requirements, perform troubleshooting, and ensure safe, compliant design in dynamic spaceflight settings. A master's degree is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
  • Experience with low- and medium-voltage systems.
  • Experience with instrumentation and controls including VFDs.
  • Hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with LOTO and de-energization procedures.
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills in dynamic environments.
  • Experience using AI tools in engineering workflows.
  • Knowledge of safety analysis, systems engineering, and quality processes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, analyze, and implement electrical engineering solutions spanning power distribution, motors, instrumentation, and controls.
  • Serve as a technical contributor on a small team with broad scope.
  • Interface with operations, manufacturing, test, and external partners to gather requirements.
  • Provide input across safety, systems engineering, configuration management, and quality.
  • Perform troubleshooting and root-cause analysis on electrical and electromechanical systems.
  • Support preventative and corrective maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Configure and support basic networking infrastructures.
  • Apply and support LOTO, de-energization, and other safe-work practices.
  • Design and evaluate electrical systems for installation in hazardous (classified) locations.
  • Document designs and decisions for traceability and configuration control.
