Job summary

HDR Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Fall 2026 Power Systems Engineering Intern to join our team in the Sacramento, CA office.

You will support electrical engineering design projects in Power, gaining hands-on experience with generation and/or substation work under licensed engineers and technicians. As an intern, you will learn through mentoring, work on analyses to develop design options, and contribute to cost estimates, reports and drawings.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate engineering program.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Commitment to an active participant of our employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing electrical design options and recommendations.
• Support preparation of cost estimates, reports and design plans.
• Collaborate with licensed engineers, engineers in training and technicians on project types.
