Job summary

HDR Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Fall 2026 Power Systems Engineering Intern to join our Sacramento, CA office. The successful candidate will support electrical engineering design projects in Power, focusing on power generation and/or substation.

You will work with licensed engineers and technicians, gain real-world experience applying coursework, and explore a career in electrical engineering after graduation. Internship is in-person only and local candidates preferred.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
• Possess strong problem solving and communication skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Attitude and commitment to employee owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting analyses to develop electrical design options and cost estimates.
• Work on projects with clear objectives and limited variables.
• Connect with recent graduates and leaders through mentoring programs.
• Apply standard engineering techniques and computer modeling software.
• Perform assignments under supervision of a licensed engineer or project manager.
