Job summary

Sargent Lundy in Chicago is seeking a BS or MS Electrical Engineering student for a Consulting role focused on utility planning and interconnection studies. You will develop one-line diagrams, verify reactive power requirements, and build PSS/E models to support interconnection applications.

Preference given to those with ISO/RTO knowledge, experience with power regions, and strong GPA (3.0+). Target start in summer 2027 with collaboration across the Consulting Business Group.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in Power Systems Analysis.
• Minimum GPA 3.0.
• Prefer prior power systems engineering exposure.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Consulting Business Group to support engineering studies.
• Prepare interconnection applications and develop conceptual single-line diagrams.
• Review ISO feasibility and system impact studies for ISO Interconnection Customers.
• Perform power system studies including contingency analyses to support planning strategies.
• Contribute to advanced grid studies for scenarios with renewables and retirements.
• Support project teams with due diligence and track progress and data.
• Prepare technical reports and deliverables and provide client support.
