Job summary

SGB-SMIT USA, a division of SGB-SMIT Group, seeks a Power Systems Protection and Controls specialist to travel to job sites for testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting, applying IEEE, NETA, NEMA, and NEC standards.

You will generate test reports, and assist in training service technicians in protective relay and control systems. A diploma or degree path with 5–7 years’ OTJ experience is required or equivalent qualifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Trade/Tech school with 5-7 years OTJ experience in Power systems protection and controls.
• Equivalent Military training with OTJ experience in Power System Protection and controls.
• University/College Engineering Technology with related Power System Protection experience.

Responsibilities

• Travel to job locations, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and applying pertinent technical and safety standards (IEEE, NETA, NEMA, NEC).
• Create test reports and summaries of work completed.
• Assist in training service technicians in basic protective relay and control systems.
