Job summary

Western States Equipment Company is seeking a Journeyman Field Technician for Power Systems in Meridian, ID. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair industrial engines and generators at customer sites, comply with safety standards, and complete detailed service reports.

The role requires 3+ years of diagnostic/repair experience in a Caterpillar or competitive setting, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain a DOT medical card.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree in diesel tech preferred.
• At least 3 years of diagnosing/repairing industrial engines and generators in Caterpillar or competitive environments.
• Must possess valid driver's license and be able to obtain a DOT medical card.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair engine and generator systems to manufacturer specifications.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections as scheduled; complete service reports for files and warranty purposes.
• Utilize service manuals and parts books to address issues and ensure proper documentation.
• Maintain safety and quality standards, and communicate with customers professionally.
