Job summary

Western States Equipment Company is seeking a field service technician to perform routine maintenance on generator and power systems, working under supervision across Caterpillar and non-Caterpillar products. The role includes load bank testing, troubleshooting, and detailed reporting from customer sites.

Ideal candidates will have 3 years of maintenance experience on Power Systems, own tools, and good English communication.

Qualifications

• Proof of high school diploma or GED.
• Associate Degree from an accredited vocational school preferred or comparable work experience.
• 3 years experience with troubleshooting and maintenance methods for Power Systems products.
• Must own required tools.
• Must be able to communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on generator packages, industrial engine packages, and electric power generation system components.
• Assist senior technicians with load bank testing including cabling and cable termination.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and repairs.
• Assist EPG Field technicians as required.
• Prepare service reports documenting activities, issues and up-sell opportunities.
• Prepare work orders, parts lists and time cards accurately and timely.
• Maintain professionalism and safety on job sites.
• Adhere to customer requirements and care standards.
