Job summary

Ameren Illinois seeks an Electrical Engineer to design control and protection systems for transmission, sub transmission and distribution networks in central and southern Illinois.

You will analyze outages, design cost-effective protection schemes, coordinate cross-functional teams, and support automation efforts including renewables connections. The role requires strong analytical and communication skills and the ability to work on major projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license desired.
• Experience with symmetrical components and protection devices preferred.
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze outages for proper relay and breaker performance.
• Design protection schemes, review drawings, perform power system calculations and coordination studies.
• Coordinate purchasing, drafting, construction activities and provide cost estimates.
• Provide consulting on protective device coordination and automation, including renewable inverter connections.
