Job summary

Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE) is seeking a General Engineer to support engineering projects for protective relaying and transmission substation work. You will evaluate compliance, identify risks and prepare evidence for regulatory and internal standards.

The role requires experience with relay settings, system studies, data analysis and tools like ASPEN, Excel, Power BI, SQL, Python, PowerShell and Visual Basic, with emphasis on automation and reliability improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or PE license (2) required.
• Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical systems.
• Knowledge of engineering principles and problem solving.
• Experience with complex field test equipment.
• 4-7 years of professional engineering experience.
• Regulatory standards knowledge and related experience.
• Engineering experience with changes in responsibilities or related roles.

Responsibilities

• Performs engineering assignments of moderate complexity with guidance (50%).
• Leads small projects and coordinates cross-functional teams (30%).
• Provides technical support for design, installation and maintenance (10%).
• Participates in evaluation and improvement of technical systems and processes (10%).
