Jacobs is seeking a Power Systems Engineer – Strategic Projects to drive modernization of high-voltage transmission and substation infrastructure. You will lead studies, design efforts, and strategic initiatives across planning, execution, and operations, engaging with cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes optimization of assets, renewable integration, and technology-driven improvements. A PE preferred, with 12+ years in power systems and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 12+ years of utility, transmission, substation, or power systems engineering experience.
• Experience with high-voltage systems ranging from 69kV through 500kV.
• Familiarity with substation equipment: transformers, circuit breakers, switches, CTs, protection and control, bus configurations.
• Knowledge of IEEE, NESC, NEC, and utility design practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsabilités

• Lead projects involving high-voltage substations, transmission systems, protection and control, and grid infrastructure.
• Perform engineering studies, evaluations and system assessments.
• Develop project scopes, specifications, design criteria and recommendations.
• Support conceptual to detailed design activities and life-cycle coordination.
• Collaborate across engineering, operations, regulatory and leadership teams.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend implementation paths.
