Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Power Systems Engineer – Strategic Projects to drive utility modernization and strategic investments. You will lead high-voltage projects, coordinate design through construction, and evaluate new technologies for grid resilience.

The role requires 12+ years in power systems engineering, 69–500 kV experience, and collaboration across engineering, operations, and leadership teams. A PE license is preferred and a hybrid work model is offered.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.E./B.S. in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 12+ years of utility/transmission/substation power systems engineering experience.
• Experience with high-voltage systems from 69 kV to 500 kV.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects involving substations, transmission, protection and control systems.
• Perform engineering studies, evaluations, and system assessments.
• Develop scopes, specifications, design criteria and recommendations.
• Coordinate lifecycle phases from planning to closeout.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and implementation strategies.
• Present findings to leadership and stakeholders.
