Job summary

Electric Power Engineers is seeking a Power Systems Engineer to conduct grid studies and analysis focused on planning, modeling, operation, and protection systems. You will perform detailed studies with PSCAD, PSS/E, PSLF, TSAT, and ETAP, including IBR modeling and technical reports, while ensuring compliance with NERC standards.

The role requires 1–3 years on power systems analysis with a BS in Electrical Engineering and a focus on power systems. Travel is minimal; Panama City, Panama location.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed bulk power system studies using PSCAD, PSS/E, PSLF, TSAT, ETAP, etc.
• Conduct IBR modeling: steady state, short circuit, and dynamic in PSSE.
• Assess IBR operational capability: voltage/frequency ride‑through using PSCAD.
• Ensure compliance with NERC operation and planning standards.
• Prepare technical study reports for all studies performed.
• Meet project deadlines within budget and produce high-quality outputs.
• Manage data generation and maintenance for related studies.
• Identify training needs and present to management.
• Support client services and project deliverables.
