Job summary

The City of Austin seeks an Electrical Engineer to perform power system studies, prepare designs for generation, transmission, and distribution, and support SCADA/EMS projects. You will help ensure reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance.

You will collaborate with field teams, produce reports, and present technical findings to stakeholders. A Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering is preferred and a willingness to travel to multiple sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience with load flow analysis and reliability engineering.
• Familiarity with NERC, ERCOT, TX PUC standards.
• Ability to draft reports and present findings.
• Knowledge of electrical utility systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform power system studies and analyses.
• Prepare engineering drawings and documents.
• Assist City Departments on technical matters.
• Develop safety procedures for electric facilities.
• Support energization and field deployment.
