Job summary

The City of Austin seeks a Senior Power System Engineer to plan, direct, and coordinate design for electric utility facilities including transmission, substations, and control systems.

You will perform complex power system analyses, develop engineering designs, and prepare reports for regulatory agencies while leading major projects and ensuring compliance with NERC, ERCOT, and TX PUC standards. Hybrid work options and a focus on reliability are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with seven years of related experience.
• PE license in Texas or ability to obtain within one year.
• Experience with electric utility design and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex power system analyses and design for transmission and substations.
• Develop engineering drawings, circuit maps, and control diagrams.
• Coordinate with regulatory teams to ensure compliance (NERC/ERCOT/TX PUC).
• Provide technical leadership on major projects and energization support.
• Prepare regulatory reports and budget inputs.
