Our client, a leading organization in the power systems industry, is seeking a qualified Power Systems Engineer to support the design, modeling, development, and testing of complex power systems. In this role, you will play a key part in evaluating system reliability, efficiency, cost, and safety, while contributing to engineering solutions through simulation, testing, and continuous process improvement. Responsibilities:

• Design, model, develop, and test power systems and components while applying established engineering principles and developing functional requirements.
• Use PSSE and TARA to create simulations, evaluate preliminary designs, and assess system performance, reliability, efficiency, and safety.
• Investigate system and component failures, identify root causes, and recommend improvements to maintain product quality and operational performance.
• Collaborate with engineering stakeholders to integrate components, validate final designs, monitor quality, and support continuous improvements to engineering processes.

The ideal candidate

• Hands-on experience with PSSE and TARA in an engineering or power systems environment.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles related to system design, modeling, simulation, development, and testing.
• Experience developing and evaluating simulations or prototypes to validate designs and system performance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to investigate failures and perform root-cause analysis.
• Experience evaluating engineering designs for effectiveness, cost, reliability, efficiency, and safety.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Experience with Python is preferred, along with a degree or equivalent experience in engineering or a related technical discipline.
