• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; PE license or EIT status preferred.

Role Description

The Power System Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Augusta, GA. This role is responsible for performing power system studies, including load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, arc flash, and reliability analysis for industrial, commercial, and utility projects. Day-to-day tasks include designing and analyzing power distribution systems, supporting power generation and transmission projects, preparing engineering calculations and technical reports, and reviewing drawings and specifications for accuracy and compliance. The engineer will collaborate with internal designers and project managers, coordinate with clients and other engineering disciplines, and participate in field visits and inspections as needed to verify installation and performance. The role also involves supporting quality control processes, ensuring adherence to applicable codes and standards, and contributing to continuous improvement of design practices and tools.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Power Systems and Electric Power, including distribution, transmission, and utilization.
• Experience performing Power System Studies such as load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, and arc flash analysis.
• Solid foundation in Electrical Engineering principles, with practical experience applying them to real-world projects.
• Understanding of Power Generation systems and related equipment, including generators, switchgear, transformers, and protection devices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field; PE license or EIT status is preferred.
• Proficiency with power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, SKM, EasyPower) and standard office productivity tools.
• Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE, NESC) and utility or industrial design practices.
• Effective communication and documentation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple assignments.
• Attention to detail, commitment to safety, and willingness to participate in site visits and field inspections.
