Job description

Our client, a leader in power systems and energy infrastructure, is seeking a Power Systems Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This role will focus on designing, modeling, analyzing, and testing complex power systems that support critical energy operations. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with PSSE and TARA, strong analytical capabilities, and a passion for improving system reliability, performance, and efficiency.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on large‑scale power infrastructure projects where your simulations and engineering insights directly influence operational and design decisions.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, model, develop, and test power systems and related components using established engineering principles.
  • Utilize PSSE and TARA to perform system studies, simulations, and analysis focused on performance, reliability, safety, and efficiency.
  • Evaluate preliminary designs and recommend improvements through modeling, testing, and validation efforts.
  • Support the integration and testing of system components within larger power system environments.
  • Investigate power system performance issues and failures, conduct root cause analysis, and develop corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders to drive continuous improvement initiatives and optimize system performance.
  • Assess engineering solutions with consideration for reliability, safety, cost, quality, and operational effectiveness.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience using PSSE and TARA for power system modeling, simulation, analysis, or testing.
  • Strong understanding of power systems engineering, including system design, development, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience conducting simulations, system studies, or prototype evaluations to support engineering decisions.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical problems and perform root cause investigations.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering teams.
  • Experience evaluating system reliability, operational efficiency, and overall performance.
  • Python and/or TSAT experience is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Why You’ll Love This Role

  • Work on impactful power infrastructure projects that support critical energy systems.
  • Gain hands‑on experience with industry‑leading power system modeling and analysis tools.
  • Solve complex engineering challenges that directly improve system reliability and performance.
  • Partner with experienced engineers on innovative solutions for large‑scale power networks.
  • Contribute to projects where your technical expertise drives measurable operational improvements.
