Job summary

1898 & Co. is seeking an Energy & Utilities Analyst to support technical and economic studies for utility clients in a fast-paced consulting environment. You will assist with power system studies, cost/benefit analyses, and regulatory assessments under supervision.

You will contribute to detailed technical reports, client presentations, and project planning for fossil and renewable generation. This entry-level role targets new graduates with strong quantitative skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field from an accredited program.
• Basic knowledge of standard engineering techniques, principles and procedures.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
• Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
• Strong attention to detail, collaboration and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated leadership potential. GPA strongly preferred (minimum 3.0).

Responsibilities

• Analyze, interpret, and apply engineering, financial, and economic conditions to client projects.
• Support power system planning and operations analysis including power flow and reliability.
• Assist with life-cycle cost analyses and financial forecasting for utilities projects.
• Support drawings review and project requirements as set by project managers.
• Prepare technical reports and client presentations summarizing results.
• Contribute to risk assessments and economic evaluations for fossil and renewable generation.
• Assist with regulatory and contract administration tasks for utility projects.
