Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (SEL) is seeking a Power System Protection Engineer to deliver expert technical support and solutions for protection schemes, focusing on reliability and safety of power grids.

You will teach, advise, and assist customers while contributing to technical literature and demonstrations. This role requires a foundational Electrical Engineering degree (MS preferred), 1+ year of protection/relay experience, strong communication, and the ability to travel up to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; master's preferred.
• 1+ year of experience with power system protection and relays.
• Experience with utility/industrial power systems focusing on protection, control, and operations.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and eagerness to learn new technologies.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Travel up to 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Work with customers to apply new technologies to power systems.
• Design models/demonstrations to teach customers about solutions.
• Support SEL products and troubleshooting to find root causes.
• Analyze protective relay responses to faults.
• Teach customers how to use SEL products and relays.
• Contribute to and review white papers and technical papers.
